As was said, the first game's combat looked stiff. But it didn't just look stiff, it felt stiff. In fact the whole game felt stiff, whether you were in combat or walking around the citadel. I really hope they improve the animations and controls in this game to make feel and look more fluid.

Mass Effect is my Deus Ex. Everytime it is mentioned I want to go back and play MORREEEEEE. My hunger is insatiable!

I have yet to play the first one. Maybe I could install it right now.

I liked the first one quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to the second one. My only hesitation comes from the rather uninspiring shooter element of it. The first game's combat felt... sterile in comparison to other successful 3rd person shooters. Games like Uncharted 1/2 and Gears of War have a lot more going for them in combat than Mass Effect ever did. I think half of the problem is ...

Cant freaking wait! going to be awesome

definitely looking forward to it but.... like Sparta said, the combat in the 1st left much to be desired from what I can tell, though, 2 looks like a huge improvement

I don't care either way. Mass Effect is a good game, but people should stop jizzing in their pants at the sight of another AAA game. I'll pick it up from a bargain deal I guess.

this game would probably make a kickass tv show if done right. looking back theres plenty of locations, characters and plot to work with. i'm thinking something along the lines of Babylon 5 with a touch of Star Trek and some Stargate.

Bioware really needs to figure out a more dynamic system.

I STILL haven't gotten around to even opening my ME2 copy, but I hope to have finished my final ME1 playthrough sometime in April. I want to play this so bad but I feel a strong compulsion to do so using my final ME1 save.

There's still a lot of dialogue in ME2, but it's doled out a lot better, ie - there are less concentrated chunks of just talking (unless you actively seek it out). At the end of the day, though, this is a Bioware RPG, so unless you've been living under a rather large rock you should know roughly what to expect. As far as how ME2 improves on the first, the combat is empirically better and more involved. You could argue that...

So you're going to abandon playing a game that specifically improves on the one thing that's preventing you from enjoying the current game you're playing?
