When I went through induction the first time (starting again) I tried to kick my 1 cup a day coffee habit. At that point in time though I was eating real sugar. I was drinking sodas and everything... I started Atkins in March 2008 and went cold turkey with everything and felt SO bad. So I did drink my coffee. (I was on Atkins WOE for about a year and a half and just did recently (about a ...
Not me. 1 cup of espresso with 2 TBS 1/2 & 1/2 every morning. I gave up bread, wheat, sugar, grains, etc. I did not give up alcohol (usually a galss of wine or two a couple of times a week), coffee (as above), dairy, occs SF soda, and an occasional low carb SF candy (like a Russell--OK--so shoot me, but better than a real one). I figure this is for life (or it should be) I've got to live with ...
Not me either. I have never been able to give up a cup of tea in the morning, even when I was pregnant. The tea isn't so bad ... I really do need to give up the Diet Pepsi.
Weaning is the only way to break the caffeine habit. Caffeine withdrawal headaches are incredibly horrible!
I have not given up my coffee but I have cut back from several pots a day to about 3 cups per day. I like mine really, really strong with heavy whipping cream. I'm losing weight, the coffee and cream is not causing cravings, so I'm keeping it in.
Coffee didn't trigger cravings for me either... When I started induction I gave up sodas and went to diet. It got so I couldn't drink them. Now I can't drink carbonated drinks on a daily basis. When (and this is FEW) I go out to eat I get a diet pepsi or coke. I used to take a purse sized liquid stevia bottle with me and put it in iced tea.
Oh yea... no more Coffee Mate. I looked up...
Nope, not me! Gotta have my morning coffee!
Also drink my Diet Pepsi too. Although I have cut way back on my Diet Pepsi intake..mainly so that I can focus on drinking more water. I notice I do much better at staying on plan when I up my water intake and my skin looks better too. But still can't give it up 100%.
No way am I giving up my coffee.
I gave up Diet Coke, I gave up dairy, I got rid of artificial sweeteners, got rid of any remaining gluten in my diet, no soy either. Ditched legumes, including peanut butter.
You touch my coffee...and....
I'm just drinking decaf these days. I love the taste of coffee but I guess I am not an ultra-coffee-snob as the decaf tastes just as good to me as the real thing so I'm happy with it.
