Thread: Who fixes or services SEWING machines?

Started 10 months, 1 week ago by DesignerMom
I inherited a Kenmore sewing machine from a grandma who passed away 5 years ago. I know my machine is not working so I need to have someone look at it and give me an estimate (I might just buy a new one). Does anyone have a referral for a repair person in Weber or Davis county? Thanks I want to get started on a new hobby soon.

If it's a Kenmore, call Sears. BTW. Average bench fees for an average ( non-computer) sewing machine will be around $60.00. That's what I pay for both my Singer and my Bernina no matter where I have taken them. That should include a clean/test and tune up. Any repairs over that will obviously be more. HTH.

I had mine worked on by Bernina Sewing Center in Sunset, ph 801-773-6625 You can call and see if they service Kenmore first, I really liked them and they were so helpful. GL

I have a family friend that fixes sewing machines. His name is Neal Iund. His phone # is 801-292-9726. He is in Centerville. He has been working with sewing machines for a long time and would be great at giving advice. My mom has had him fix her old sewing machine and he has given me advice on where to buy my sewing machine.

Bump- My needle keeps getting jammed in the bobbin area. It's been cleaned out, the holder of the bobbin has been taken out and put back in multiple times and it still jams up when I put the bobbin thread in. Any suggestions on who to go to to have it looked at in South Salt Lake Valley?
