My first Bomer sighting was in Guiding Light and I'm not afraid to admit either, he was very good. Ha, me too! His Ben was the only reason I watched, and they totally screwed over my Ben/Marina shipping. This is fun! Loved the partnership. The only problem was Kelly from Saved By the Bell. Girl is so typecasted, and it doesn't help she can't act. Crossing my fingers for a recast!...
My read was that he got it, but he just doesn't believe that stuff about working hard and earning your rewards. I'm not sure how intentional it was, but there were enough flashes of vulnerability and even fear/horror of poverty to make me wonder if Neal has gone through some hardships in life beyond just the wine bottle filled with cheap wine and so his antics are kind of the equivalent ...
Like many, I was pleasantly surprised by this as well. The biggest plus for me thus far was the characterization of Peter. I was really fearing we'd be getting brilliant con man/stodgy FBI guy, so Peter's intelligence (and the competence of his co-workers) was a welcome development. A strong sense of basic decency + a kind of intelligence competence is my absolute favorite character type,...
Love all the discussion here but nobody's mentioned this one thing that I've seen named as a pet peeve on many of the network dramas (the CSI shows, Criminal Minds, Law & Orders) -- when there's a need to enter a building where there may be a potential danger lurking, the STAR(S) of the show always enters first (especially dumb with the original show CSIs who aren't even police officers). But...
Finally caught the pilot last night, and this one stays in the DVR. Like many of you, I recognize Matt Bomer from Traveler (stupid ABC) and opted-in for the pretty, was jazzed to see he got a decent show. It'll be interesting to see where this goes from here.
I don't think either of them came from especially prosperous or connected backgrounds, but they go very different paths with their brains and talent to go on opposing sides of the law. That was part of what gave me the impression that Neal is trying to escape from something (I mean, other than prison). Since they are supposed to be very much the same, just on different sides of the ...
I also don't like Marsha Thomason but thankfully she's being replaced by Natalie Morales. I know USA and NBC like to build synergy, but I will have a hard time believing the Today show fill-in newsreader is an FBI agent.

As for the idea that Neal is getting things the "easy" way, while the promo materials describe him as a con artist, the crimes mentioned within the show itself weren't of the "smile, lie, and get people to give you money" variety. They required specialized knowledge and a lot of preparation, as well as some talent (given the mention of forgery and the artwork on the cell walls, it seems ...
Hopefully, they'll give it time to settle. Audiences tend to make their viewing choices in the fall and don't like to change too much. Moving shows to different nights has always been a gamble, and people may not be too ready for USA to spread out from Friday and Thursday.
Not only do I love MB hair on White Collar, esp in the episodes following the Pilot, but I love the Oceans Eleven/Rat Pack, type clothes, Neal sports. Only MB can wear those suits and ties, and look so so sexy. I hope they keep S1 hair and clothes, for Neal next season. He wears them so well. I am curious if S2 will recieve 14 episodes and remain on Tues, or what they will do with that. I personally kind of felt the show did well for Fri, but...
Hurray for season 2! *does the dance of joy* But I prefer his hair as it now is - Bryce's hair annoyed me in its slick super-spyness. I prefer Neal's slightly shorter, slightly more on the fly hair. I've been paying too much attention, haven't I?
Now, I can picture an accountant with a stereotypical accountant's personality being married to by-the-book, awkward flirt, somewhat stiff Peter a little more easily than I can a charming, sociable, glamorous event planner. Oh, I don't know, after a day spent dealing with fickle clients and flaky vendors in trying to pull together an event and having to be glamorous on the job, it must be a relief to come home to stable,...
This is why I want to learn more about Neal's family, and what happened in his past to make, him have those insecurities and lead him to the con man lifestyle. My personal theory, (so far) is that Neal was an orphan or child in the foster system who never had anything like a stable family life and while he turned out brilliant and devilishly smooth, he's still somewhat needy. He's a lonely little boy trying to fill a hole in...
Bomer is gay and apparently partnered with kids to an agent/other player in the tv/film industry. Some blog posted photos of him kissing a dude from 10 years ago and friends wrote in to request they be taken down, not because of White Collar but because Bomer's partner and kids don't need to see him kissing an ex from a decade ago... so of course another blog posted that information. Not too surprising that someone that pretty is...
Two problems with the it's Kate's ring theory, imo. 1. Kate never took the photo of the ring-man and had no idea Neal knew about it(unless Mozzie is in on it) cause Neal was the first one to mention it in the phone call. 2. The Interpol lady said it was the FBI that had her and then Kate independently confirmed it on the phone call in the finale. So unless she and the lady Interpol cop are working together, we've had two...
I'm not sure how ratings are figured....if I watch one show whilst recording another to watch later...how do they know that? Which watching do they "count"? How do they know I'm watching something in the first place. There was just an article in EW about that actually, talking about which shows pick up big audiences on DVR recording. Said, IIRC, it's basically similar to the way they do it now... survey a...
I just hope his kids are his biologically, because the Pretty genes need to go on. I read an article about surrogacy for gay dads and Matt's partner was featured. It sounds like the kids are biologically his partner's. But I've seen a pic and the kids aren't going to suffer in the looks department. I don't know how USA usually behave towards renewals - would it be usual to hear for definite this early in the season...
Natalie Morales has tweeted that she and Tim DeKay sang a karaoke duet at a White Collar wingding last night. Sadly, no word on the song performed ... Also, the background for Eastin's twitter page is a lovely photo of Matt Bomer at the pier where the Circle Line boats tie up, with the skyline behind him. I can't recall ever noticing the background before, so I'm guessing it's new. Anyway, you can right-click and save the...
