Thread: Which Carli suspension and toyo tire?

Started 1 month ago by JCockerill
i'm looking to run 35X12.5X 17 toyo tires. i've learned that carli makes the best suspension kits for our trucks. the question is do i go with the started kit or the 2.0 system? the truck is 95% road 5% off road. i want it to ride nice. Also do i get the Toyo AT or MT? i love the look of the mt, but don't want the road noise. thanks

I'd still get the 2.0 Bilstein setup if you can swing it. It's supposed to be his best riding setup. After getting the system, you might find offroading a lot more fun. There will be added dampening capacity if you decide to throw a cabover on it in the future or tow heavy. I think the Interco Vortrac is the only E rated 35-12.50-17 AT out there. If you don't offroad much, the AT would probably ...

Since you asked the question.........you already know that you want at least the 2.0 system I went big with the 05 truck so I can play as hard as I want.I went with the 2.0 system for the daily grind and occiasional romp on the old 94. Sane drivers will get by just fine with the 2.0,for every one else................

I really would love to get the Bilstein 2.65 system. Sounds like they are working on the long travel rear and front radius arms around those shocks.

The Toyo Mt's are very quiet when compared to any of the competitive tires.

One more thing to consider. Might as well go in to the decision 'eyes wide open'. It should be common knowledge that the higher the vehicle the lower that fuel mileage. Given that I already had the leveling kit and was used to getting better than 18 mpg for hiway driving (cruise set at no more than 65 mph). I was really disappointed my my max range with the new tires (plu the additional one inch of lift). I lost 1 - 1.5 miles per...

Yeah, mine stick out more because of the Mickey Thompson wheels. And, the front left rubs just a bit on hard left turns. If you keep the stock wheels, yours won't stick out as much (as you can see from Bob's pic above). The H2 wheels on ASchwartz's would be somewhere between the stock and mine. The antenna mounts are stake pocket mounts. They are from Firestik, Firestik SS-194A Truck Bed Mount I ordered them from the guys at...

Problem is new rims.
