Thread: Where is my TM icon on the menu bar?

Replaced internal HD and have no TM icon in the menu bar. What do I do to get it back? iMac, eMac, iBook Mac OS X (10.5.5)...

If there's a Time Machine item in /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/, double-click it. If not, you need to update the OS. (46361) iMac Late 2007 Core 2 Duo Mac OS X (10.5.8)...

Try TM Preferences. There should be a check box for that towards the bottom. That wasn't original with Leopard; I don't recall when it was added, but I thought it was on or before 10.5.5. How did you reload your internal HD? Are you sure what version of OSX you're actually on? If not, click the Apple icon in the menubar, then select "About this Mac."...

Apple Service installed a new drive and loaded the system on it. Being that I assumed (there goes that word again) they had loaded the newest but in fact found that it was 10.5.1. Got the new download and now the icon shows on the desktop. When the TM does a total restore does it also include the system but is not bootable?...

If you do a full system restore, via the procedure in item #14 of the Frequently Asked Questions...
