When I restart my computer, it restarts with a blank screen which I cannot revive. The computer screen stays blank. My only option is to press on the start button to switch off and start again. I just upgraded my hp pavilion from vista to windows 7. Connected to hdmi on our sharp flatscreen and things were fine. Connected s-video to old tv but no display, did re-start, but laptop did not restart. Now when I turn the power on nothing happens, just get a pop sound from the speaker and a black screen. I also have this issue.  I recently upgraded my Gateway Computer from Vista 64 to Windows 7 64 with the disk supplied by the Gateway.  When I tried to restart it comes up with a black screen with a blinking cursor in the uper left conner.
