Early this year I bought a set of Konig Heliums for my '99. I love the wheels, how they look and what they've done for the "feel" of the car! When I bought them I was worried about the pothole strewn wasteland of the "greater" Detroit roads (yes, an oxymoron - I know). And...true to form, by the end of the year I now have bent lips on 2 of the wheels.
My question is...is there any consensus ...
'92 NA with '99 Sport 15" rims
I have a '92 NA with '99 Sport 15" rims... I just found a nail in one of my tires today and I don't know if it can be patched ... will find out Monday. My tires don't have a lot of wear but are not exatly young. I bought the rims and the tires came with.
So on the off chance that I have to ...
They have a nice classic look to them and fit the NA perfectly.

you're damned right it's gonna make someone say they suck.
The UL's balanced ...
well, the installer uses the latest Hunter machine
It's a performance wheel/tire shop and nothing else.
They install/balance various Porsche race teams setups, i would venture a guess that my wheels weren't the first ones they were told to balance under 10lbs road force.
They seemed to get the 15x9 UL's balanced at around 7-9 road force without much problem at all, first time around.
So ...
Robino - your feelings are understandable, but your assertion that Rota wheels are junk presupposes that all the good experiences people have had with Rota wheels didn't actually occur.
It's tough to balance intellectual and emotional responses to this sort of thing. We all fall into this trap from time to time.

We just purchased a 99'. I was hoping for a little guidance as to the best "all round - year round" tire. (Rudy feel free to pipe in.... please !)
This car will be driven in NJ. So we have a fair amount of rain and a little snow now and then. This car will NEVER see a track as my wife uses the car as a commuter. The commute is 112 miles a day round trip. 80% of that trip is highway, 60-...
I've been looking at a few different wheels and their corresponding weights and offsets. I put them ont a spreadsheet overlayed on top of my current wheel (16x7, +42) to get a visual of where they would sit. Hope this helps others thinking about any of these wheels.
BAHKACK I think they are old school and they do look good. I got tired of my Chapps and was hunting for something new when Tire Rack announced the TR 1 CM. Looks something like the 6ul, only for 100.00 per wheel, they fit the bill for me. FWIW I like the 0 offset old school look.
Commonly snow tires are run 3 or 4 pounds higher than summer tires. This will vary from tire to tire and car to car though. Start at 3 pounds over and see how it feels. Adjust a pound or two at a time until it feels best.
If you want to be sure you don't get into trouble with snow, you better go with some type of A/S tire. Or, you will have to watch the forecast and not drive if there is any chance of snow. I am planning to go with summer tires next time, but I have winter tires and I just put them on with the first forecasted snow. This year, I then took them back off for a couple of weeks of Indian summer, but now they are probably on until Feburary or...

Hub rings are not required. They just (possibly) assist in getting the wheel on the studs. It's the lug nuts being tightened into their seats on the wheel that does the centering. How could a flimsy plastic ring hold the wheel centered?
