Thread: Whats the difference between menstural blood and blood in the urine?

Menstrual blood will come from the uterus and out through your vagina. Blood in your urine comes from your urinary tract (kidneys, bladder, etc) and out the urethra with the urine. So they come from different places in your body but come out openings that are next to each other.

MewMew42: You need to get checked out to be sure you don't have a urinary tract infection. The bleeding is not normal. Call your doctor and get checked out. Don't wait for it to get worse. You may need some antibiotics.

thanks, I have been to the doctors, they didnt seem to concerned they took some blood and I was given some penicillin after sort of 'monitoring' the urine I believe it to be come from the urine, well i would say so, as the stream turns red after a while, i dont think a period could do this unless im just very unlucky and have both right now..... Ive been on the penicillin since friday...

How long do you take the meds? If it's 7 days, then if it isn't totally well after 10 days, I'd go back.

they said the course was for 3 days but gave me 5 instead, 1 tablet 3 times a day Il keep an eye on it, thanks =]

the meds were for 3 days but she gave me 5 instead, 1 tablet 3 times a day not my usual meds for treating utis but it seems to be working...sort of! I'll keep an eye on it anyway, thanks =]
