Thread: What's the difference between Avatar and Avatar: The Last Airbender?

Started 3 weeks, 2 days ago by LanimilbuS
So I've been seeing lots of trailers and ads for both Avatar (2009, James Cameron) and Avatar: The Last Airbender (2010, M. Night Shyamalan) recently and, without knowing much of anything about either, I'm wondering if they're both based on the same thing or same story or are completely different and just happen to share a title. Is Avatar: The Last Airbender a sequel to Avatar or something?

M. Night is directing Avatar is directed by James Cameron and it is HIS ORIGINAL IDEA AND SCRIPT (which was written in 1995). It's his first feature film since Titanic. Please please PLEASE ...
