Thread: What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Free Dating, Singles and Personals

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by Steve Bungle
What with Starsigns being a requirement for a profile, I wonder what the ratio of people is who take it seriously to people who view it as just a bit of fun? And why do most of my profile viewers seem to be Aries?

I tend to be of the opinion that Horoscopes are meaningless, and I dont even notice them on peoples profiles. That kind of cynicism is typical of an Aries though.

Actually the best ever astrologer I ever read was an Aries. Her name is Linda Goodman. She is so funny and so hilarious. http://www.cyberspacei.com/englishwiz/library/name s/zodiac/contents.htm

Well, as a Leo I know for a fact that I will never get on with a Libra man so yes, I actually do look at star signs Horoscopes (proper ones, not the ones at the back of a daily paper) tend to have some truth in them. Any Leos, Scorpios or Taurus men in East London?

I dont' really believe in it, but I really can't abide Capricorns!

Gucci Girl replied 1 month, 1 week ago
I dont believe either, and have to admit iv never even noticed it on a profile, too busy oggling the pictures

Actually, I do believe that birth sign has some influence on personality type. I'm a leo and am really typical of my sign. Trouble is I tend to attract taureans and it really doesn't work. All of my serious relationships have been with taureans and my being here (yet again) should give a clue about how that works! I would love to meet someone who wasn't a taurus. Well, except for a scorpio...

Some people have said I'm a typical Saggitarian. The interesting thing about that is, the only people who say that are people who have read my profile where it says I'm a Saggitarian. I'm not a Saggitarian, I made a mistake when I set up my profile and it's too late to change it. Conclusion: Utter rubbish.

Oh Adele - "kill each other" with a Scorpio.. yup.. but what great fights those are Signed: Leo Woman

Perhaps we should get Russell Grant involved in this discussion? Or is he too busy celebrating Staines' win yesterday? "It was written in the stars..." I'm with IcePie on this. It's cobblers.

i was merely giving proof of the validity of the predictive aspect of astrology, why not just follow the theme of what i said through from there with your own research through google, no doubt you will discover lots of interesting and quite amazing predictions that have materialised. your question about planets, i don`t quite understand what you mean?, how can planets move apart? did you mean to say star formations, (clusters of suns with...

What have you got against 90 and 180 degree angles? What have they ever done to you to deserve such contempt? Ooh madam, it's discrimination!

Unsurprisingly, there seems to be a complete lack of ability in answering any direct questions. I am sorry if it is disappointing but I would not be able to describe the whole astrological doctrine in few sentences in layman terms, or even in a leaflet instructive forms and even I studied it intensively for several years.. Also I can only imagine what a joke Derren Browns descriptions would be, thinking that his knowledge of astrology would...

Unsurprisingly, there seems to be a complete lack of ability in answering any direct questions. Edit: ^^^ 'Rarebird', I admire your optimism in attempting to deciper a starsign from a pof profile. 'Alma'..//I studied it's (astrology's) principles and methods for many years// This is good to hear.. Ok.. I'll try to ask you again. How do you know that astrology and it's principles and methods arent just...

THE DUKE SPEAKETH: oh purleeeeeeeeeze! i thought we had put this one to bed years ago. astrology is bollocks. Indeed end of chat. Well it would have been, had he not claimed it is science. To so claim is to insult science, hence my challenge.

I used to give some credence to astrology, so I researched it a bit. (Just because a person doesnt prescribe to a particular theory, Merkin, dont assume their ignorance!) I was disillusioned by the flaws in theory and the 'adding on' of bits through the years. I think it is very unlikely to have any real value. Interesting to read what was said in Msg 36 (thanks for that!) I think it nicely proves that if one wants to believe in...

If you can't see it, know where it is or what it is, how can you calculate it? From:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_matter Dark matter is postulated to partially account for evidence of "missing mass" in the universe, including the rotational speeds of galaxies, orbital velocities of galaxies in clusters, gravitational lensing of background objects by galaxy clusters such as the Bullet Cluster, and the temperature...
