I have 15 years in Special Forces (Green Berets).... There is a book called "Small Arms of the World'...... we are trained to use all of them. Green Berets do not have assigned weapons.... we have a huge weapons room with every type of small arms in the world.... When we get a mission, we chose the weapon we need to complete the mission.....I even was trained on the Hawk Missile once

M4 most of the time. That said in some countries/mission they use local weapons ie AK-47's and soviet weapon systems. Last tour in afghanistan my sergeant never used an american weapon. A green beret is trained to teach the local population how to fight, so often they use the same weapons as the locals.
