Started 1 month ago by sourlemon

Eh, I bought my whole euro bumper for that much. I found a car nearby, an L6 for $400 (with a crackless front airdam!) I may pick it up and part it out...I'm gonna go check it out sunday if I get time. It "needs a starter" ...we'll see.

"I bought my whole euro bumper for that much" does not mutually exclude your request for the spoiler with the added urgency also saying My 633 seriously needs one!" Although it comes darn close to being the same thing if you forget to consider that when you purchased your euro bumper it was a cheap part five years ago and now that (like the rest of the costs to work on these cars) it's gone...

Looks familiar. I'd seen one like it at a Starbucks here in CT and the guy's name was Matt. Same color, same dogleg tranny etc. Not sure what year it was, but it was an M635 Euro. Edit: I see his name is Chris, so not same car (Unless Matt sold it to Chris).

Were you able to find the cause of your intermittent speedometer? What did it turn out to be?

jmenacker replied 3 months, 2 weeks ago
After cleaning circuit board in the speedo and reflowing, the speedo has been fine. Prior to getting in that far all grounds were cleaned, pins on the main board cleaned, the differential sender replaced and the SI board replaced. HTH, Joe M in WV

I have a set of TRX's that came off my L6 with the original wheels. Replaced with 16" Style 5's. They are in Atlanta, and we could connect at the Road Atlanta Sharkfest. BTW, I think we have a 83 5 Series that is going into 24 Hours of Lemons as well.

29 years, since new in 1980 (well, not me personally...but my dad and then me and now my oldest son)

Max: The parts are fairly expensive (let me know and I can work up a quote). It isn't opening up the motor as much as you might think if the mech knows "the trick." Anita had her chain done by a guy in northern VA who did a fine job from my understanding. Total is likely to be between $2.5K and $3K, maybe slightly more.

Even though most of us have a E28 DIY manual swap link, I would love to see a more specific E24 manual swap posted. I think I have some pics of the fuse change-outs for the factory radio and can do something for that. Anybody interested?

I had to store Wolfie at my parents place from January of this year til about March (the nasty weather season!). The only option was the yard, which kinda of scared me. We took an old pool cover and folded it up to about half its width but its full length and set it under the swing set. Then I put some PVC blocks (resist rotting) under the tires and drove the car up onto them and onto the tarp. Then we wrapped the tarp over the top of the A...

Telescoping steering column adjustment. Steering wheel moves in and out but not up or down. That's why we have 4530498234-way adjustable power seats, I suppose... -Matt

It's just a circuit breaker for the power windows. I have no idea why they didn't just use a fuse like everything else.

was lucky to get the DIY subforum. The powers that be want For Sale activity to stay in the main classifieds.. part in reason is the vendor supporters, I was told. They now have a "Prefix" you can use in your searches.. look at "advanced search" and you'll see it near the top left side.. its a drop box labeled "Find Threads with Prefix". This is only for the more recent posts that had...

Haha! I'm going to have to look at some sort of storage option for the winter so that this car doesn't get beat to death by the sun and the snow. One of my coworkers stores some Alfas at a place that charges around $60 a month, so that could be a nice option except that it's 15 miles away. Do any of you guys have experience with weather proof car covers? I have a 6 car driveway and a half-acre lot at work where I can store the...
