Hey Go lovers! Sorry the Go didn't do as well as you hoped and did as well as...I predicted it...Anyway, with the market research that the GO is digging up I can only predict 3 possibilities at the moment. PSP: Despite the flaws, the PSP still provides sony with good profit and great marketing abilties, so if they plan on making more money (Obvious? ) There will be more PSPs,...
disagree with you completely on the next psp not being digital. If the psp was released in 2009 and it was between the 3000 and the go most people would go with the go. The original psp had a larger market then the go and most people who have a psp that breaks down on them will choose the 3000 due to them being able to still have their games.

I hope the next isn't 100% digital, it's best just to offer a digital version of every physical game available and make the system models with a lot of internal memory but with UMD compatibility.

This is not a flame, but a genuine inquiry. Rpw I've seen you state time and time again that the Go is a failure... Where is your proof? Are you a marketing rep for sony? Are you some sort of a market analyst? I would like to see your sources.

To be honest, I've given up on the PSP. I've had mine for about 3 years, and I've only enjoyed God of War, Monster Hunter, and Valkaryie Profile. I tried MGS and others, but they didnt work out for me. I see the GO as the PSP becoming an iPod touch, with lots of small, quick mini games and such and a music player.

Everyone in power is against it happening. It is for music. Digital music killed the CD industry. iTunes, Rhapsody, etc. are all dominating the music content industry. If it can work for music, it will eventually work for games, movies, TV, etc. It...
Techni wrote: I feel the poor sales, plus store/country boycotts, plus the fact that Sony wants to sell PSP2s to regions that dont have broadband access means they will be forced to release a UMD version of PSP2. Possibly dual-SKU with another not having UMD for regions that could actually support it. Consumer choice = win I've spent a few hours trying to find out where you're comming from, I can find no mention of an entire...

They want to make more money, and they can't do that on DD alone. They cant sell a DD-only PSP2 I pretty much agree with you. The best option for the PSP2 will be some new sort of media and possibly a second model that is DD only. There are too many issues that need to be...
evolyptic wrote: Actually, I don't know if it was pointed out to you yet, but he has a point. If two systems were released on the market at the same time people would buy the more expensive one, because humanity has been trained into thinking "More Money = Better"; I think that they will abandon UMD all together in their next PSP Series. It only makes sense, Digital isn't the future in the future. In the future...
I personally hope they don't go with another disc based medium ..Loading times on a handheld .Spinning discs..Kind defeats the purpose of pick up and go (small pun intended) playability. With flash based tech so up and coming (becoming cheaper also) its the best way to go .People complain about not having a physical copy in hand , but if you look around the market (netflix streaming / itunes / app stores etc) people are leaning towards...
Exactly. GameFly, Netflix, etc. are all about convenience. The same with On-Demand TV. Eventually it will happen to the game industry. It's just a matter of time.
