well of course you can avoid addiction if youre responsible, problem is lots of people in this thread are taking benzos every day. in fact, it seems more common for doctors to prescribe them that way.

Well, when I was about 10 I was diagnosed with ADD so I took ritalin for a while. Then I stopped taking it for a few years and still had sleep and anxiety problems.

^I wouldn't feel so defeated. I think just about everyone out there has some form of mental illness- Some choose to ignore it and never admit or or seek help- And some choose to get help. I don't think it is weakness to need help- actually quite the opposite. It takes a strong person to say, 'something is wrong and I'm going to face it and fix it' - It is much easier to pretend its not happening.

As far as benzos go, i think that for people who have panic disorder like me, that its a good idea to have a small supply (mayb 5-10 tablets) of ativan or klonopin or whatever around just in case a panic attack occurs. I have an incredibly hard time getting Rx'd any amount of benzos because I am labled a drug addict because I'm on MMT. There are times when I am in a complete panic mode and absolutely need a benzo to calm me down....
