Thread: What materials in addition to TPR Hyperlearning?
Started 3 weeks, 2 days ago by JP2740
I am going to take the TPR Hyperlearning class (as of right now).
1) What other books and stuff like that should I get in addition to the materials they'll give me (what are the essentials)?
2) If you recommend me not taking the class, can you tell me why? I am really self-motivated (have a high GPA as well-I've worked hard in my pre-req classes), but I just feel like since I have the ...

TPR is fine though.
If I had to use their stuff, I would just add 1001 and FLs.
I think overall the TPR Hyperlearning materials are the best. Others will disagree, but this is my opinion after using most of the stuff out there (aside from Kaplan, which no one seems to care for much anyway).
I would not take the class. You said you are self-motivated--you do not need a class. They will not teach you any magic tricks. I would buy the materials privately, and use the cash ...

well I am a contrarian after all, so no surprise my opinions differ from the consensus.
EK Bio is good, but there's nothing wrong with TPR's bio either. It's just more detailed, but it is well-written and helpful. I thought TPR's physics was on par with TBR's. People mostly say they like TBR Physics because of the practice problems, but if OP has the TPR Science Workbook, he'll have plenty of...

Although I can say that most of the advice I give is after spending 3 times more than I should have on materials. So learn from my over anxious desire to buy everything that has "MCAT" written on it.

Would you recommend against me taking the class?

Any suggestions in addition to this? This would be good. You're also going to want to get the AAMC practice tests, but that will be closer to your exam time.
