Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by mrprovisional

It turns out that it was valued at ...

Three dollars for the first Big Bertha nine degree, steel head driver at a swap meet. Didn't need it, but for three bucks and it was in great condition. Put a new grip on it, played with it for a few days, and it now sits in the closet. But it was a great deal.

This is easy for me. In 1989 I wasn't looking for a garage sale but I was driving down Periwinkle Ave on Sanibel Island, FL and saw a garage sale that had some golf clubs and bags, more than enough to get my attention. It was early morning and the lady was still setting up. I stopped in looked around and within 2 minutes found what was to me the holy grail of collectible clubs. A brand new ...

Wasn't a golf club, but an old flintlock pistol that a friend found that was the deal of a life time. He found it buried in the dirt of an old barn back east. Was covered in dirt and couldn't tell much. He offered the farmer $25 for it and took it home. Turns out when he cleaned it up, there was a GOLD engraved plate inlet into the wood. Engraving said. "Custom made for the King of Prussia" Turns...

Haven't had much luck at the old yard sale seen. Not that I don't try, just not lucky I guess.

I picked up a Spalding TPM-4 putter at the range for $3.- on Sunday. I could probably get one for $30.- on ebay, but it ain't all about the monetary gains: In my hands this thing may turn out to be priceless! Or not! Feels like a great putter though.

nice...I have a buddy that refuses to use anything thats not made in the USA. So he is currently using a set of Spalding Executives (I believe) that are made in the USA and a leather golf bag made in america as well

I found a Burr Key Bilt Classic 4 iron with wood shaft for $3.00. It has a round brass insert in the middle of the face which goes all the way through the club. Four lines radiate out to the left and right with two straight lines at both top and bottom. It is an absolutely beautiful vintage club and like nothing I've ever seen before. I believe it was manufactured around 1920. Has anyone else seen something like this? Any idea of...

I thought I might hear some real good stories here but nothing compared to the one a friend of mine came across about 20 years ago. He happened to see some clubs standing outside at a garage sale as he was driving by and just out of curiosity stopped to check them out. Well the lady was selling her deceased husbands clubs and didn't know the value so my friend offered her $100 for them all and she was thinking it was too much. Anyway he...
