Thread: What is the point of dual wield?

I'm sitting around with my lv27 berserker, and I haven't used a dual wield weapon aside from the starting set. I have yet to find a dual wield weapon that has anywhere near comparitive damage to the single hand or two hand weapons of the same level. Supposedly, dual wield is a perk of playing berserker, but it seems to be useless. I keep finding dual wield swords and staves with 100-200 less ...

dual wielding is a perk because the damage it lists is per hit and dual swords its something like 4 times faster than a two handed sword. so you will deal much more damage using dual weps than 2 handed.

Dual wield hits faster than the other styIes of attack, plus the skills on the right and left path of the berserker skill tree are for dual wield weapons. Build you character correctly and they are very powerful. I would say just keep lvling and it'll get better. By 50 the zerker does some impressive damage at a really fast pace.

1 handed weapons hit fast but dual wield hit faster, and as pointed out in the first response (second post) you basically get two attacks for the price of 1. You also get better rune benefits with dual wield attack radius increases aside from the damage and attack speed ones. If you're a defender you really have the weapon augmentation capability due to your hammer and shield combo. Pistols ...

Oh, and if your dual wield attack radius is high enough and your damage is above mediocre range, you can destroy trolls and the everlasting hate effortlessly. Remember with the incredible speed of dual wield weapons, you can cover a large area in a small amount of time so don't overlook radius.

Oh, and if your dual wield attack radius is high enough and your damage is above mediocre range, you can destroy trolls and the everlasting hate effortlessly. Remember with the incredible speed of dual wield weapons, you can cover a large area in a small amount of time so don't overlook radius.
