Thread: What is the difference between c:\Program Files and C:\Progr

Started 5 months ago by Will Pittenger
If the later is for 64-bit programs, I don't see why it matters which go in which folders. In fact, I find it rather confusing because I have programs in both and never seem to know which folder to look in. ------- Will Pittenger [will 6 8 at mtco dot com] (preferred e-mail address) Or use [will dot pittenger 1 at gmail dot com]

the "x86" folder is created by the 64bit operating system. "x86" is essentially the same thing as 32bit. -- kword88

So why two folders? Seems redundant and confusing. ------- Will Pittenger [will 6 8 at mtco dot com] (preferred e-mail address) Or use [will dot pittenger 1 at gmail dot com] kword88 wrote: Quote: the "x86" folder is created by the 64bit operating system.
