Yes, Rome has more than 1 army, but an armies hundreds of miles away would not save him. I like the idea, not because of a happy ending, but because I would see more battles. This movie really lacked battles, like the one it started with. But then again, I can't complain about that because the movie is called Gladiator :P

I'm surprised the Battle between Max and Commodus was so short. I expected a longer more dramatic battle scene. It happened so quickly. If anyone had to go to the bathroom during this scene in the theatre they would have missed it coming back.

I think it would be a boring final battle between commodus and Maximus, as Maximus wouldn't have had a punctured lung while fighting him and Commodus would be dead in several seconds.
