bosch 040? although u would only go down this path if you had a turbo exa too be honest. i had a V8 toyota soarer pump on my old exa, but it was put in there by a previous owner so i have no idea on what was going on with it i would stick with the stock pump mate, cheaper. bosch 040 is a couple hundred dollars etc

Would anyone know if a vl pump would fit? My old exa had one on it and it worked well. But i did not put it on so, i have no idea Has anyone done this?

Maybe. I had an r31 skyline once. Took an after market pump from a MK4 supra. It fit quite easily into the skyline, which shares very similar cradles. That pump is now in my pulsar. It makes a very soothing WHINING noise.

Most pumps are the same. Maybe not the same size, but anything can be made to fit very very easily.
