Thread: What do you set your Adjustable Rear Traction Arms to?

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by keithdigital
I had my alignment done and thought they would adjust the traction arm for me, but apparently they "didn't have to". Does it change you alignment settings if you adjust it? What do you guys set it to? Thanks.

Usually the traction arm adjusts toe in or out and you usually leave it close to stock like 1 degree especially in the rear not much adjustment is needed. If they didn't adjust it than its probably set to stock.

1 degree in or out in the rear?

My bad camber is measured in degree which is -1 degree Toe is 0.5-4.5 mm in not out.

Yea, and toe can also be measure in degrees. I read that some people shorten the traction arms, but not sure why?

They shorten it for more traction.

Wrong, the "traction" rods allow for more toe and camber adjustment on slammed cars, they also reduce wheel hop caused by the stock arms binding due to geometry changes( caused by lowering the ride height), adjusting them WILL change your alignment and cause it to need re-aligning

Hey ashibah83, that is what I was looking to hear. But the big question, how do you properly set the traction arm length?? I am getting my alignment rechecked on Wednesday and would like to know before I go. Thanks!

To an extent, I would not use it as the sole adjustment, the aftermarket adjustable arm just allows for more adjustment IF you cant get the specs in with toe and cambers links alone.
