I really want to get Neverwinter Nights 2 and the expansion because I think it really is a great deal. However how many activations are we allowed with the games?
That sounds good because there Faq was saying something about limited activations or something. If that is the case I am going to pick up NWN2 + Expansion
This is just a copy paste from another thread on the activation limit issue. You've got an unlimited amount of installs in reality, it's just every 5 they want you to contact them. It's how they prevent people from buying it once and giving it to 1,000 people instead forcing you to use a 3rd-party program like Steam or Impulse. It's not a problem unless you burn through your limit in a week,...
I've been using them for the last 2 weeks for the sale, and they seem to be a company that wants to take care of their customers. However, their site and the way they format some of the games seems to be a little buggy. Other than that, though, i continue to buy from them so I'm pretty satisfied.

Yeah, the first part of what you say is entirely true. In order ...
Direct to Drive is a great concept. Its easy (can be fast based upon the speed of your internet) and offers a selection that you might not find elsewhere. Of course its also better than buying multiple copies because you need to transfer it to another computer.
One thing it has over Steam is that you don't need to plan ahead for internet outages or the like, since after installation you don't need to be connected to the internet at all to play games downloaded through them. (Actually, Steam is the only major DD player I know of that wants you to always be online even to play your single-player games.)

For instance, I have the original NWN2 on disc, and was thinking about the expansion, but I'm not sure that would work. Oftentimes expansions on D2D will say that they work the retail copy. (It might be nearly always for all I know.) For example, the product description of the Neverwinter Nights 2...

I just purchased Storm of Zehir, and had the retail NWN2 game (box, cd's, ect)...it works perfectly.
D2D is really a good choice to go for. I never had problem with it so far. I prefer it over Steam also. X3 Terran Conflict was **** terrible with Steam. Could not get my update before they decide to send them. It took a hell of a time for some of them. While people with the physical copy had them right from the internet. I think no matter what that it could have been the same if it was on D2D, since the digital copy would have probably be the...
It's nice and clean, you download your file and have your game. I personally hate all the BS that comes with steam when all I want is a game, they really try to shove it down your throat as much as possible.
