I found that dietary changes help in treating constipation , such as eating foods higher in fiber, drinking more water, and/or taking fiber supplements such as Metamucil .
Colon cleansing is something that doctors have mixed feelings about-- most don't believe it is necessary, some recommend it to their patients as a way of detoxification. But please remember that what works for one person, may not work for you. You don't want to try just any product without talking to your doctor first as resulting dehydration and/or sharp decline in electrolyte and minerals ...

The reason to treat constipation is to relieve any discomfort that may be associated with the constipation as the presence of infrequent, hard or difficult to pass stools (which is what defines constipation) in of itself is not a disease or a problem (the normal frequency of bowel movements is from a few times daily to as few as once a week!). Constipation itself rarely causes future problems (...
Please disregard both of Gastro Girl's posts on this topic. Her subtle criticisms of colon cleansing products have no legitimate foundation at all. And I suggest that you check her quote from the doctor who has no specialization in bowel movements and digestive systems. High fiber diet, increased water intake, fiber supplements, exercise nothign has worked for me. I still have to face regular but hard stools. Any suggestions!

I've tried a number of different laxatives and I used to think they were safe, until I found out that laxatives can severely damage your digestive system. I did my research online and looked for a more natural alternative. I came across this product called Oxy-Powder and I could not believe the amazing results. Oxy-Powder is not a laxative, it is an oxygen-based colon cleanser, but boy does it help alleviate my constipation! I strongly...
Constipation with IBS can lead to hemorrhoids, so it's necessary to take high fiber diet, and should be taken in less amount in initial stage and later can be increased gradually, even doing colon cleansing will help in bowel movements better.
