Similar to the book thread, only this one is for films. Since most people don't watch part of a film and then go do something else like they do for books, but read straight through them, this is for what you've just finished watching. For me, I literally just finished Stand By Me, with River Phoenix. It's based on a story by Stephen King.
I liked the film, but like Shawshank Redemption (...
This kind of detracts from the 08 in film thread...
Both "Stand by Me" and "Shawshank Redemption" are excellent films, the latter being truly fantastic.
If you find coarse language that offensive, I can only imagine what else you find offensive, and given that some of the best films are rated R or involve multiple instances of these things, I would recommend just avoiding movies if you ...
How about this thread be used only for films we've watched recently that didn't come out in '08? Like rentals or whatever.
I don't have much to contribute at the moment, since I haven't watched any non-'08 movies in a while. But I will say that The Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies ever. As for the language, yeah, I have a hard time understanding how that could noticeably ...
Well I just finished watching two sneak peeks for the new season of LOST (zomgitlookssocoolcantwaitaaaahhhhh!). Anyways. . .
Can this be for TV shows too? 'Cause all my shows are done until January (sob) except for Crusoe, so I've gotten back into Mork and Mindy. SO funny!
And I'd like to see the movie The Weather Man, 'cause I'm a big fan of both Nicholas Cage and Michael Caine, but ...

I like Monk, too! It's the only show I ever watch, because I don't get many channels at home and have to go to my dad's house to see it, and I just go there once a week.

Haha, in fact, I have. It cracks me up every time I watch it. Jensen and Jared have waaay too much fun with that show (not that there is anything wrong with that ).
Somebody should of warned me how ...

Last things I watched: 300: A few hundred half-naked men choping each other to bits. What's not to like? The Fog: Kind of stupid and very frustrating. Nobody folllowed my advice to not open the stinking door. Blair Witch Project: I think I swore nearly as much as anyone in the movie. They didn't listen to any of my advice to get the heck out of there while they still could. Also, I am never going camping again.

Well, my friends and I have taken to adapting our viewing to whatever our main homework is that night, so: Brit/World Lits typically get Kubrick or Mel Brooks films. Latest was Spartacus, Clockwork Orange and History of the World before that. Biochem translates to anime (currently Fullmetal Alchemist, next is Neon Genesis), as does Calculus. Physics is drama (Dexter, Mad Men, or Breaking Bad) Languages (Latin/German/Russian/Greek, depending on...
I try to keep up with Better Off Ted, Castle, and when The Deep End hits in a few weeks, will be following that (unless it turns out awful) too. I don't have TV channels, so it's all online if I watch it, or rented. I followed the first four seasons of LOST, and would be interested in the fifth, but so far haven't gotten too motivated to pursue getting it once it does hit shelves.
