Ok, Let's say you just found the Sacred Church Mine (Or the Carre, or whatever name you prefer to call it). I don't want to start a religious debate,
but what would you truly hope to find?
Gold/Treasure
Evidence confirming the LDS church's beliefs (Nephite Records, plates, etc)
Evidence disproving the LDS church's beliefs
Ark of the Covenant
Other significant religious...
Well first of all the Carre and the Sacred Mine are two different places......
What I would "Hope" to find is something......
What I would "expect" to find is nothing.....
I can't answer better than that......
Most of what has been written relating to the two is assumed, added to, or twisted.....
Ok I'll humor you....
Gold/Treasure Well of course!
Evidence confirming the LDS church's beliefs (Nephite Records, plates, etc) Don't need it
so why hope for it?
Evidence disproving the LDS church's beliefs
Don't need it ...
I don't think this is a hard subject to talk about. I have found that a lot of people that I know are more into the hunt than the find. Many people hunt
for mines for years--once they find what they are looking for they don't do anything with the mine but start researching and looking for the next mine. I
personally know a little about how hard it is to mine or pan for gold and I also know ...
The sad part is that your story is probably true--most items would be declared fake (and you would be sent to prison anyway--just for good measure) and any items that were declared authentic would be declared of now value because you touched them, breathed on them, photographed them, or just looked at them (and then you would be sent to prison anyway--just for good measure) and it would be declared that no information could be gleaned from...
"Actually, yeah...I don't know crap about gold plus it seems to bring more headaches than blessings." Weight to Volume, Gold will buy many books, plus the books you guys describe would fall under the antiquities act or National security or worse. No way of telling how old that gold is though. Enough gold invested in bribes to the proper politicians, then you could buy the property, sit a few, then make a wonderful...

Gotta deal with the feds, then you gotta sell it at a loss, gotta pay to have it tested and assayed, etc. Would I take gold...sure...why not...would I rather have access to some old records taht could potentially rewrite or at the very least clarify the...
Randy Bradford wrote: Someone I've met through this forum that posts elsewhere (sorry, dont wanna drop the name) told me he had found something rather special in Claifornia, a Spanish Mission carved into the side of a mountain. He claimed to have found tons of old (16th century) church records before injuring himself and having to abandon the site. I always thought how amazing it would be to find something profoundly historical like that...
