So far it hasn't been bad except for the fact that wearing light colored pants these days is like trying to dodge your way through a paintball match.

At the risk of sounding like a dinasaur - do they print when they write or do they just text and type and don't use paper at all? Sorry - no kids and really, really out of the loop.

I think I would have a difficult time with that as well!

Those hormones are scary. Son's voice is changing and so is his personality. Not sure if he was abducted by aliens this summer but this kid is not the same one I had last school year. He seems to think school has changed into a torture chamber instead of a learning center. Of course, not sure what they should be learning since the only thing they seem to focus on is the stupid AIMS tests. What happened to history, math, Language arts etc...

Ringie - how old is Ringlet? My DD is 12 and DSD is 14 and our house at any given time is a lifetime drama. Over something as minor as where the shampoo bottle is. God help us all!

Mijitamia, it was the same way when DS was in school. It's unfortunate, but because of all the push towards testing and achieving certain goals, I truly feel that they miss out on a lot of actual learning.

And that's why I only wear denim or black, Ringie. And I guess good penmanship is soon going to be a lost art since they don't seem to stress it in the schools. I noticed that with the Princess. <<< disclaimer - does not have good penmanship.

OMG that brings back horrid memories. In 5th grade I had a teacher that used to hit me with a ruler over my hand because when I wrote cursive, I didn't slant. I wrote straight up and down. I still do!! Im glad Ringlet remembered!

Funny because DD wants to write in cursive. So, we practice a lot at home. She got in trouble in 2nd grade for doing it, even though she knew how. I thought that was wrong.
