This should make for a fascinating thread full of angry discussion. Apologies to the moderators beforehand. Here goes...
I've got £100-150 budget range and I want to buy a new chair, one ideal for a writer. I imagine comfort and posture would be the order of the day, though I could be overlooking some other factors.
Any thoughts?
(It's important I get this right because I'll be stuck ...
Thread moved from Writing Resources to Aspiring Writers. I wouldn't say that a piece of furniture actually qualifies as a writing resource, even if you sit in it when you write, and I think you'll get more replies to this if it's in a more appropriate subforum.
I have no suggestions, except to say what you probably already know, that which chair is right for who is ... not subjective, ...

Ok looking at the chairs in the first picture on the blog makes me almost afraid to sit in it.
I feel a story coming on. I sat in an ergonomic chair only to find it was actually the chair of a psychotic doctor, restraints quickly held me in place as the chair slowly moved me into position; ready for the evil doctor to begin his work.
We have a lamino chair in the flat that I like to sit in to read and outline stuff. Best gift ever, it's a little out of the normal price range, but possibly the comfiest chair I've sat in.
At the PC I use a rickety swivel chair that I got from Argos, I think. I sit oddly, though, so it works for me.

Mine's plastic, hard, has no wheels on it, is a little too low down (as is the table (and no, they don't cancel out)) and generally feels like sitting on a funny shaped stone. Don't buy one like this.

I don't get this at all. I thought all the people on the site had the standard Brian patented issued Chrons chair. I thought we all got them after our fiftieth post that's when mine arrived. I objected to paying the £250 but since it arrived things have been a lot easier for me and my family. Especially when we bought the wheel attachments You know the one. White plastic, easily hosed down incontinence chair with the handy...
