after the discussion with WDecraene yesterday about the horrible Tom Waits : irony mark : and how some of his songs might be bearable when sung by rod steward and the like, i remembered that along with the eleventy-bunyip Tom Waits albums i unthinkingly have accumulated i also have " Step Right Up: The Songs of Tom Waits " as performed by artists such as Violent Femmes (damn ! i forgot them on ...

i listened to the Garden State soundtrack (minus a few of the tracks) on endless repeat for a while and loved iron & wine's version of "such great heights". then i found out that song was originally by the postal service, and those guys are brilliant. now i'm pretty sure i like the original version better, but sometimes i'm just not sure. here, decide for yourselves : The Postal Service : Such Great...
