[cliffs- weight cutting is stupid --> change it to day of fights --> fighters will learn to fight at natural weights --> arianny rewards me sexually for my insights]
Okay, first off I fully expect some initial lashback from this post, but I also think a lot of people will agree that something needs to change with modern weigh in rules.
After watching Anthony Johnson weigh in a hefty ...
Fighters try to gain as much weight back as they can before the fight day, so the weigh in before the fight day is needed. If they did that on the day of the fight, they would be stuffed and feel really tired and out of it.

Did you read my post? Particularly the part that ...
I agree. If you want to cut that much weight to have a larger frame, then you should fight with the consequences (dehydration, conditioning, etc). I like the idea of having the weigh- ins the morning of the fight.

yes but the point is that the fighters wouldn't try ...
I think having it too close to the event is bad for knowing whether someone is going to be able to fight, if they are going to make weight, or whatever. Moving weigh-ins closer to fight time to me just seems like getting rid of the cushion for no good reason.
Yes, you have clearly demonstrated the point that we could do same day weigh-ins and it would work, but the question is: Why? Why the ...

The consequences aren't as severe. For me there is a huge difference weighing in the night ...

I think this will put fighters who are at certain weight in between weight classes a bigger disadvantage. They won't be able to cut down the waterweight near weighins like they used to meaning they can't make weight or are fighting in bad shape, and then they are forced to go up a weigh class so they can make weight and fight healthily and then they are fighting bigger guys than them. If they were to do something like this they would...
