So, Sabrina is 9-weeks old and since she still eats every 4-6 hours, she's still in our room at night. During the day some naps are in her crib, some in the pnp, swing, car... But, I want to ensure that I don't have any issues w/ sleep w/ her (you all know how my other one sleeps) so I'm looking for any tips that I can take advantage of, even at this young age. I do put her down drowsy but ...

um i've really got NOTHING... mine was in my room in the cradle until 4 months old, never slept in his crib or pack n play (other than sleep overs) until then either... well maybe at like 3 months i tried to put him n his crib for naps, but unfortunately i would just put him on the couch or on the floor for naps, or bouncy seat mine was ...

To be honest there's not a WHOLE lot you can do now. If she will fall asleep on her own, drowsy, then that's a great start. My best advice is to do CIO at a much earlier age. I did it around 5 months. And sine then he has slept great. My pedi had told me I could start CIO at 4-5 months. I also took the paci away at around 8-9 months so ...

A lovey helps. Something that helps her self soothe when she wakes in the middle of the night and needs some comfort and reassurance. A routine helps. Doing the exact same thing every night apparently triggers a Pavlovian response so that they know it's bed time. I'm not sure it matters what the routine is, so long as there is one....

Jill , I think you are doing about everything that you can at this point. The biggest thing is not to bring her into your bed to help her sleep. You might want to start putting her in her room and crib now. The longer she sleeps in your room the harder it will be to move her, as you already know. I would really stick to my guns on that ...

Once she can sleep thru the night I'll try Ferber method which I'm not even sure I'll need since she seems to be a decent sleeper already. I'm also thinking of putting her in her crib at night even now, once I get her a monitor. I can get up to feed her that one time since it literally takes her 10 minutes to eat and she's back asleep. ...

She's definitely too young to really be thinking about it right now. I know with our DS#1 we didn't adhere to any plan and he is now 4 years old and still winds up in my bed every night. With DS#2 we committed to CIO when he was 6 months old. The operative word being COMMITTED. There is no half-way CIO. It's all or nothing and it stinks...

I appreciate your encouragement. My dd ends up in our bed more often than I'd like too and that's what I'm trying to avoid. I don't think it's too early to be thinking about it and even putting into action whatever I can until she is old enough for Ferber (not full-on CIO but interval training).

Once Lily started sleeping in her crib we let her lie awake after she woke up and just spend some awake- time in there with herself. Obviously if she was really crying we'd go get her but otherwise we'd just leave her until she let us know she really wanted to get up. I believe that this allowed her to become comfortable in her crib and ...
