Started 1 month, 1 week ago by NewCarr1
DS got his H1N1 shot this morning. We're now in the "Please God that it was the right decision" stage. The clinic wasn't as bad as i expected. We got there at 7:30, stood int he rain for 10 mins, stood inside for an hour, we were 22nd in line to get the shot, and 15 mins after that we were out the door. It was LOUD (i mean, all thsoe kids getting shots at the same time... ) but not terrible. ...

Replying to: lead test Cindy, Maybe every doctor is different, but mine tests for lead at 1, 2 and 3 years. If it's fine then, they stop. They have a finger prick or heal stick every few visits as babies to test for red and white blood cells (CBC). Polly

Replying to: Small water bubble on pelvis? I read on your last post that Alex got his chickenpox shots right? Lindy got a bunch of those bumps after she got hers- the doctor told us this could happen when we got the shot. We put some calamine on hers & they went away quickly. I would think that diaper cream might burn as well. Good luck.

Replying to: Small water bubble on pelvis? thanks megan. yea that thought crossed my mind that maybe it was because of the vaccine. his pedi didnt warn me of this happening but its no biggie. i just popped it and clean it. he didnt even feel me do it.

Replying to: Target portraits wouldnt it depend ont he target and photographer? JCP does real good here. Thats because that dumb guy isnt here.

babybman replied 3 months, 1 week ago
Replying to: Target portraits yeah it depends on the photographer. At JCP i've not had a problem until this last time. he was just bad. he missed the moment on alot of pictures and you could see my feet and you couldnt edit them out of some.

Replying to: not chicken pox...but what? check out coxsackie virus, my DD had them and they sound similar. They look a lot like chix pox. They didn't itch her until they started to go away. There is no treatment, just let it run it's course. It is caused by a virus and is contagious. GL!

Replying to: not chicken pox...but what? Has your LO been in a pool lately? This happend to me back in July. He has bumps all over his legs and arms, and some on his neck. They looked like little pimples. My DCP thought they were chicken pox. I knew they werent. They didnt bother him and he didnt have a fever or anything. So I pay $20 and a day off work and take him in for literally a 5 ...

Replying to: Chicken Pox/MMR Vacine So the fever is gone now? If the fever returns I would say call the pedi but if the fever is gone and all you're dealing with now is the boycott on eating a decent meal, I wouldn't worry too much just yet. I know my DD goes through phases where she doesn't eat much for about a week and just at the point where I really start to worry, she rebounds and ...

babybman replied 3 months, 1 week ago
Replying to: Chicken pox/MMR Vacine my pedi said that DS wouldn't have a reaction to a vaccine until 2 weeks later. that was with MMR (i did at 12 months) and chicken pox (i did at 15months). So maybe he already had something brewing. if he still has a fever at the ned of this week i would take him in.

Replying to: OT: rewards points ? Thankfully, we live close enough that if I wanted to stock up, I could take a short trip to WI and avoid the new taxes on oru booze and candy items... altho I really need to kick the chocolate habit I did buy stuff yesterday, but not stocking up, just a normal grocery trip...

Natalie Update - Parenting:...
Published (2009-12-11 19:30:02)
Replying to: Natalie Update I had the same problems when LO was born. I think it's wonderful that you are still trying though.... after 2 weeks I gave up. I felt horrible, but it was just too much for me to see him so hungry all the time. I think this time around I will keep trying. At first I thought I wasn't going to try at all, but maybe this time will be different. All I can do is try and give it my all! That's great to...

Replying to: ELMO #%&$!!!!! (long) Hi Emily. My LO could care less about TV at this point, but my niece had this obsession with Elmo almost to the point of your LO. My sister boughter her an Elmo stuffed toy and that took care of her constantly wanting the TV on. You might try that.

OT-DB's effort with looks -...
Published (2009-12-13 12:19:32)
I am so frustrated...DB just doesn't care anymore what he looks like. It's really frustrating me. It started with him gaining weight when I did during pregnancy. Fine, whatever. A few months ago we joined the Y, and most nights if I go he wants to stay at home. So he goes MAYBE once a week. Not going to do much. He says he'll diet but never follows through. So he's got this chubby face and body, and I'm sorry, but he...

Replying to: OT-DB's effort with looks I agree. You have to just come out and tell him he looks terrible...lol. Men honestly dont understand hints. Take it from me. I'm the WORST and DH is constantly telling me "TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT!" If you just buy him new clothes, you're jst hinting and he probably wont even get it. Tell him he needs to do something because chances are, you arent the only one that feels this way....

paraguard question... -...
Published (2009-12-11 19:36:47)
Replying to: paraguard question... No personal experience yet, but I am planning on getting Paraguard after this baby is born. I have done a ton of research and talked to my OB as well. Overall, most people seem to have a positive experience. It does seem to cause cramping and heavier periods for the first few cycles, but then things usually go back to normal.

Various Questions - Parenting:...
Published (2009-12-10 17:34:26)
Replying to: Various Questions Try this schedule: Eat, play, sleep- repeat all day long! Then for the "bedtime" feeding, skip the play part. Be consistent. Babies need to sleep a lot, even during the day, but you will be able to "train" their little biological clocks with this method. It worked great for all 4 of our kids. Some of them took a little longer to get it, but consistency those first couple of months really pays...
