It was irrelevant, and show what a bad debater and politician he is. He should not be making ad hominem attacks when his own family background does not bear too much investigation!

Personal attacks and smears are the sign of a poor politician who is unable to debate policy issues in a clear and concise manner.

Whats wrong with being a coward?, some of the most alive men through out history have been great cowards, my grandad being one of them. That's before he was pulled out from under his bed and shot as a deserter by the British.

Is it fair to state 1939 to 1941, trade, Othello and Thatcher was a racist moron?

Hi! No I don't think it was unfair. He was under attack the whole time and was not even given a chance to talk about his policies and manifesto. I agree totally with his views on immagration. We are a small island with not much room. It has nothing to do with being racist. The government have their own hidden agenda and if he got into power it would seriously set their plans back....

Jack Straw put his foot into that response by trying to prevent the BNP leaders from showing any sort of patriotism to the Nations war heroes .

If you're going to viciously attack someone for being patriotic then expect the same back, especially if you're the son of a coward.

Not at all, the ratchet mouthed Straw attacked Nick Griffin prior with his 'Dr Strangelove' sht so Straw deserved it, and Griffin retorted back at the 1st opportunity. I looked at Jack Straw's face when Griffin said that, and it was priceless! It's the only time Straw actually shut up though.

Yes it was - Jack Straw is in no way responsible for his father and what he did. There is a huge difference between a conscientious objector and a coward - but that is different. My Dad is stronger than your Dad is something that I stopped saying when I was about 8! C'mom Mr Sheepy you can do better than this - Nick's performance was not good last night and you know it. ...

Oh absolutely, Jack Straw is not responsible for the actions or opinions of his father, and I also agree there is a difference between being a conscientious objector and a coward, but remember that Nick Griffin's father took him to his first National Front meeting at the age of 15 as well as having fought the Nazis, not sure if anyone else can detect a slight inconsistency here.

It would seem that Prick Griffin's ol' man was quite capable of treachery too: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2001/… Racism, double-dealing, denial and betrayal are obviously well-rooted in the dysfunctional Griffin genes, eh?

Yes. The point is a) that this was nothing to do with the question that was asked - what Straw's or Griffin's fathers did in the war is immaterial and b) Griffin said that "Hitler went a bit too far" and that the predecessor of the BNP, the BUF (Oswald Mosely's British Union of Fascists) were supporters of Hitler. Mark Collett - Griffin's right-hand man - said that Britain had no business...
