Can't watch the video right now, internet slow as feck because i downloaded too much and isp is pissed. But i think there is a good argument that he was the sun,but i think alot of religions way back..or atleast myths and fables from hallucinogenic experiences got turned into beliefs, then religions then used to control populations. But there has to be some reason the vatican keep the scrolls under...

Maybe humans did developed the capacity and awarness for spirituality because of the consumption of Entheogens, we just forgot. It opened the first door and has entered into human consciousness because of it. It is true that a person can come to this state of being without Entheogens now, and that is a good noble path, but if a car is waiting, why walk. Anyway consume to many times and it ...

Jesus is a character written in a book with no evidence of physical manifestation. Like the boogieman.

What I do when I want visions, I go out into the wilderness, spend two days getting comfortable with my own mind, maybe longer, let it all be settle, then take a good dose of the sacred fungus. Oh God.

I've read Allegro and have listened to Jan Irvin's podcast or one of 'em about this. I think both of these guys are missing the boat. It is one thing to say that different types of psychoactive mushrooms were used by religious profits/scholars to recieve visions, but like it or not, Christianity is way too big and full of intricate history to be myth busted to this one detail. Very easy to say ...

If you don't accept the premise that God spoke to people directly via burning bushes etc. (I don't) than psychoactive plants/fungi seem a very likely scenario. As I said once before, those people were often hungry and would have eaten almost anything to survive...even very bitter or harsh tasting matrerial would have been resorted to. The rest just follows. "Prophets" may or may not have ...

The Jesus myth resonates with Odin, amanita connection there. Also mithraism, which grew out of a soma cult. There is debate about what soma really was but some think it was shrooms. Advocates of the "stoned ape" theory say that shrooms could be responsible for turning pre-humans into humans. We also have different cultures continually reinventing the avatar myth... And they are ...

I am pretty sure that Jesus was a man, not a mushroom. I would be willing to bet a trillion dollars that Jesus was a genius. And I would go double for nothing that, at the very least, Jesus was psychic.

I am told that nothing feels more “miracle like” and “sinless” than a good high. That’s my point.

Magnificent post cochisewolf!! It is rather profound. I will choose the parts that ring out with what I have currently been researching, and life insights. In that truly amazing deep psychedelic experience you had, my favourite part of your description was where you say you were told just how infinitely sacred is our '4th dimensional' experience~~our life. I so resonate with that insight. It goes right to the centre of things for...

The question is: does "miracle=like" describe an event that can't be explained scientifically? Is there a god? Is god a shroom? Are shrooms a god? Did jesus like baseball or football or was he just into cooking and other crafts? Please carry on gents.

Philosopher: The world rides on the back of a great turtle Skeptic: If this is so then what is the turtle walking on? Philosopher: It's turtles all the way down! What a great thread this is! Who would think that a query such as 'Was Jesus a mushroom?' could spark such an intellectual interaction of such depth and complexity! This is exactly why I am so proud to be a member of this forum. I quite seriously stand in awe of so...

I don't need to read anything other than the Title and the OP to decide whether or not I think Jesus was a mushroom or not. I don't think Jesus was a mushroom; I think Jesus was a man. The reasons I think this are as follows: the writings of Josephus, The cannon of the bible and the ignored writings that could have been included in the bible, the change in time ad/bc, and the way the teachings of Jesus line up with the teachings of...

Ooh... Very nice and wise post Cochise.
