Thread: Wanted - ST1100 tob box/luggage rack mounting plate

Started 8 months ago by STraycatt
I got the top box, and it did come with the luggage rack it mounts to. But it did not come with the adapter plate to mount the luggage rack to the grab handles. Anyone got a spare, or a source for just the adapter plate?? -Adam

Adam, Sorry; we're using the ones we have... Have you tried the manufacturer? And Freestyle?

Is it Givi or Honda? I don't have a spare either but that will help out in figuring out what you need.

A little 100mph tape will work!

This is for the Hondaline trunk/rack... I have the trunk, and I have the rack, but not the mounting plate for the rack. I can get a complete rack with mounting hardware from David Silver, but that is a bit pricier than I was hoping for... -Adam

I may be able to make one for you. Have any pics of the plate that you need? Post them here if you do. I have an ST1100 that I can use for test fitting, etc - hopefully making one wouldn't cost too much.

ADAM - There was a fellow in Kentucky on this board that had one made for his and it was top notch. You might find him through the search function. I cannot remember his ID (sometimers disease)! I've got the bolt hole pattern in a cad drawing at work if that would help.

Earache replied 8 months ago
Hey Phil - Can you email a copy of the CAD bolt hole pattern to me? EaracheMS@Gmail.com is my email address. Thanks!

The plate in the drawing that Phil supplied is only about 7.500" long (front to back) X 8.875" wide. I assume you weant something larger than that? I think whe was supplying the drawing only to show the dimensions and locations of the holes that mount it to the bike. I'm...

I see.... SO you mount this to the grab rails, then mount the adapter plate to this. Okay... I will take shots of the luggage rack sometime in the next 48 hrs... -Adam

ADAM - You got it! The main thing was to give Earache the location of the holes. They are a bit of a puzzle to sort out since the front and back ones are not 'in line' with each other.
