Started 3 months, 1 week ago by recniabsal
I just discovered this one and wanna know more about it. Also how do you change up how much boost a supercharger or blower pushes? Is this supercharger pretty good?

Usually on a superchargr, the boost is changed by changing out the pulley on the supercharger itself. Even sometimes like with the SVT Cobras they have to reflash their ECUs to accomidate (sp?) the extra boost. Check out magnachargers website www.magnacharger.com and just read up about it. I do think if i remember correctly that magnacharger is cheaper then vortec and procharger, but dont hold ...

I went to their website and just ordered their free catalog. Do you mean cheaper as in cheaper to install or cheaper quality?

PoormansVetteWS6 replied 3 months, 1 week ago
I think the overall price is cheaper but again dont hold me to that. I havent really researched Magnachargers, since im at work lol. But i havent really heard to many things about them....not sure if thats good or bad. Im sure they will have something you can look at on their website about their products or something along those lines. If not, i say Google it and see who uses/used Magnachargers ...

I think Magnacharger is the brand that is on the new ZR1 Corvette's. From what I've read up so far I'd have to do a little cutting at the cowl to make it fit. I think thats the plastic right under the windshield.

They don't make a kit for a ls1 f-body that i know of. Let alone it is roots type blower. Procharger and vortech will put don't more power with out the heat. Changing boost on a supercharger. Is don't by the pulley on the charger. But the depending on the model it will max out and loose effenciey. Let alone like procharger. Take a p600b on 6lb's and d1sc on 6lb's. The bigger is going to make...

Yea i was reading about that yesterday. I didnt find any kits for the LS1 F-bodies which kinda sucks. Magnachargers seem like a pretty decent product.

Also in order to install a Magnacharger you'd have to cut away at the cowl of the car. They say its not too noticeable but I would not do it myself because I don't have experience doing stuff like that. I'd pay a professional. Lol.

you dont have too, check the link i gave you, if you lower the k-member, and space it, you can tuck the blower under the hood

A procharger or vortech would be better than a top mount. The top mount will heat soak as where the others won't. Plus being intercooled means colder air in more power out... Let me see that thing make good numbers in the dead of winter. If you want any power out of it. Your going to need to spray meth in before the charger to cool it down. Thats old technology. We've came futher since the design. Nevermind it is water cooled but the...
