Is it just me or are relics generally more powerful than wands with their effects from dps->healing, I would give my left arm for a Priest Relic items instead of wand, ok so leveling would be a little slower.
In before the "Don't Homogenize the classes"
All Im asking is the choice of being able to choose a Wand OR a Relic depending on ones prefrence, call it something like Holy Script.
We should get Books in that slots. Mages are the traditional Wanders imo.
It'd be cool to get a Relic called
Book of the Shadows or something that made shadowform increase damage by x% more or something.
Book of the Light for holy, gives bonus something or the other
Book of the Disciple for disc gives more mitigation based increase.
IDD...especially since once we hit 80 there is no use for a wand beyond what stats it gives. I dont know many people who still dps with a wand unless doing dailys or something. Maybe something that improves healing or cost of spells or something or maybe even alters specific talents.
Hmm... Let's see... A relic that decreases the mana cost of Chain Heal by 73, or increases the healing done by chain heal on initial target by a hundred or so, or a wand, which gives white AND green stats, and can be used while being bored?
Most relics are a waste, compared to wands, if you ask me. (Speaking from resto shaman perspective.)
As for other melee relics: Compared to ranged ...
(as a shadowpriest) I really don't mind it. I use... let me count:
Vampiric Touch, Shadow Word: Pain, Devouring Plague, Mind Flay, Mind Blast and on occassion Shadow Word: Death as a general part of my rotation.
That's 6 different spells.
A relic (or otherwise) buffs one spell, for example: Increases the base amount healed by your chain heal, or your Lightning Bolt has a chance to grant ...
Q u o t e: Item - Druid T10 Restoration Relic (Rejuvenation) - The periodic healing from your Rejuvenation spell grants 32 spell power for 15 sec. Stacks up to 8 times.
Compared to a stat stick that gives me
Q u o t e: Heroic: Sceptre of Imprisoned Souls: 416 Health, 443 mana, 3.2 mana regen, 50SP, 0.85 crit, 0.73% haste.
Personally if something gave me an effect which ...
I was thinking this earlier.
All the relics of Tier 10 grant somewhere in the region of 250 spell power, at the loss of some int and such.
I really would take the spell power. >.>
The T9/10 relics are pretty much massively OP when compared to the original scope of relics. They moved away from the concept of a small, static bonus to a select spell into these massive green-stat boosts with close to 100% uptime, almost on the level of what should be seen on tier set bonus or trinket procs.
While your Wands/Ranged weapons were once the envy of us relic-classes, it seems the...

My tankadin has 200STR from libram or roughly 15% increase in str, in retri the boost is a bit smaller but still ~10% or slightly more. I'd love to get similar boost as shadow.

Its not about comparing classes, its about comparing Item slots and the effects and feeling short changed. Just think back to 2005 when they hybrids wanted a ranged item, now the tables have turned and it is us who are asking for the same treatment they where shown so long ago.
Q u o t e: Regarding itemslots, I'd much rather see offhands buffed abit vs. shields. Annoys me slightly to see perfectly itemized shields that not only can come with sockets, and not only can be enchanted, but also provide thousands of armor! Inner Fire compensates for the armor. [/quote]I reckon there's a balance somewhere, but it'd be nice to see offhands either get a few enchants available (sp enchant comes to mind ofc, but...
You can't compare parts of classes to each other you can only look at the whole in given situations to be able to balance them. Saying relics > wands is like saying DK tanking suck cause they don't have shields.
