List a strange method you think USA Network might have used to ensure that we don't know how Monk ends until the last episode airs.It doesn't have to be realistic. Be funny and creative!
My theory: The entire cast and crew were kidnapped and locked in a dungeon in an English castle after the final scene was shot.
The Big Lipped Alligator Moment!
I'm not American so can't really 'hear' where the stars accents come from.
So what accents do all the major stars have:
Monk
Sharona
Natalie
Randy
Leland
thanks
interesting question...i'll give it a shot
Monk -- non-regional American
Sharona -- east coast/New Jersey
Natalie -- non-regional American
Randy -- non-regional American
Leland -- kinda odd Midwest/Chicago
Non-regional must be the same as SoCal ~ that's where I'm from and I have the non-regional accent
Although, some of my relatives have this accent where they pronounce belly "bally" and Elvis "Alvis". I think it's the Mexican SoCal accent they have going on
Cracks me up

It will suck not having any more episodes but they have managed to get through an amazing 8 seasons without any noticeable drop in quality so what more can we ask for. I wish that popular shows could take a year or two off and come back re-energised rather than having to run continuously until they're disbanded permanently.
Yes, Reed does get around! I loved him on Judging Amy and Homicide
~ I just love seeing him, period

Straight from the horse's (Andy Breckman's) mouth... "When I wrote the pilot and I wrote that Trudy, Monk's late wife, died in a car bomb some years earlier, to be honest with you, I never expected in a million years I'd have to solve that damn crime," he said. Breckman told me he never counted on the pilot being produced or the series being green-lighted and long running. He thought doing so would be...
D.O.A., the 1949 Edmond O'Brien movie, on Turner Classic Movies, Friday 5:15 PM (ET) --famous movie: poisoned man, who has a few days to solve own crime. D.O.A. (1949) -- related to "Monk" finale of course -- 230 TCM: Friday, December 11 5:15 PM (Eastern Time) 1949, NR, ***, 01:23, B & W, English, United States, A dying accountant (Edmond O'Brien) has a few days left to find out who spiked his drink with...
I'm afraid so! It would have been so neat to keep it as Adrian that got poisoned, and all the other stuff, but Ambrose manages to make it to the hospital to be with Monk, when they think he isn't going to make it -- something to indicate that he might be on his way to recovery too...
I think any of us could have written a better finale if we had wanted to, and to me that is what makes it so sad. Don't want to be too graphic, but I remember an Oprah Winfrey episode from the mid 1990s.."Things No One Told You About Regarding Having A Baby." After I saw that program the whole "I had a baby before I met you" just doesn't fly. I know MONK was quite naive before marrying Trudy...but...
Agreed. While I had hoped against hope he'd wind up with Natalie, this was a more realistic ending. I even like the farewell song. Eco-hypocrites at the Copenhagen summit are using 140 private planes, and 1200 limousines.
She didn't scam Monk into anything. I agree she should have told him all of this, but she was afraid of how he would react. Look at the way he reacted when he heard it on the tape! She should have told him when that judge called to see her again. If she thought Ethan was going to kill her, she should have told Monk. He could have stopped it somehow. I don't blame Trudy for what she did. If I was her I probably would have done the...
It is highly unlikely... in fact, it is almost impossible for the writers to have dreamed up this ending at the start, back in 2002. I don't remember the exact episode where Dale the Whale first described Trudy's killer as a judge, but it was early on. Nevertheless, THAT WAS THE ONLY CLUE THAT SURVIVED TO THE ENDING! Dozens of other clues were brought up, then dropped. Trudy's last words were supposedly "bread and...
I would say if there was ONE change that had an effect on the show, it was hiring the new female assistant. The effect it had was to raise the ratings. The original actress was so much better. So good she got herself fired and no one else would hire her. The new one was as bland as oatmeal. I didn't find her bland at all. Pay attention, morons. 'Jump the Shark' refers to the point when a show has outstayed it's welcome....
