Thread: WTB: Engine cover(s) for first gen Mark 8

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by jmtsstewart
I need the cover set for my 48 ford street rod (with '93 mark 8 drivetrain), and I somehow lost the covers I had from the parts car (after 3 years and two moves). I need them to not be broken and have the door/cover. Let me know the price - i'm in northern alabama. thanks, jason

Damn, you live 10 minutes from me lol. About time someone is close. Good luck on a non broken tab engine cover.

I'm probably closer than that to you - i'm just barely out of madison. Maybe i'll see you at one of the local cruise-ins? Also, broken tabs are ok. I can bond them together - i just don't want one that is missing parts or sections. thanks

I have one off of my old 94. I will check to see if the tabs and doors are OK and post up a pic on Friday.

IMHO the mark 8 motor is much nicer looking with the covers removed. you're going thru alot of trouble to put that motor in there...WHY hide it with those hideous engine covers? I saw ditch the covers and let the world see that masterpiece DOHC 4V!

I understand your point, and i've actually been driving/showing it like that for about a year. The amount of wiring and components on the intake and valve covers bothers me, so I either need to cover it up or hide it under the intake like I've seen others do. My whole "theme" has been to install it like it was from the factory, so I thought i'd try the cover. thanks, jason

PM sent. Post or link some pics of the 48, I'd like to see it with the 4.6 I'd like to do a 40 Ford with the 4.6 and IRS, but I'm a poor tree trimmer Have to settle for the 57 Chevy for now.
