Thread: WM 6.5 on Jack -- Upgrade worth it? - Samsung - Wireless Forums from AT&T

Started 1 month ago by golubo
Well we all know that WM 6.5 is officially available for the Jack i637 but what I want to hear is if the upgrade is really worth it compared to WM 6.1. I've read most of the threads on here and everythingWM forums and there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of first hand experiences posted on either one.   So far I have gathered that WM 6.5 has the following: Internet Explorer 6 ...

Is there a way to disable audible alert for the low battery notification on the Epix?  The sound is super annoying, & it continues to ring after I acknowledge the alert.  Plus, it's so loud, that the people I'm talking to can hear the sound also.  Is there an easy way to shut off the audible part, or at least turn it down?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you turn off data by calling AT&T you will lose the ability to sent MMS (picture messages) too. On the samsung eternity forums someone posted a possible solution to your problem. Go to Menu Settings Connectivity IMS Settings IMS Service Select OFF   If you do not use Video Share then this won't effect anything in your daily use. Do not turn this off if you use Video Share. ...

Your best bet is to call up AT&T and ask them... If you are close, they will sometimes give it to you, otherwise, you can always eBay the old phone, and use eBay to pick up the one you want.

You can't get ride of it, the events widget is the program that tells you that you have a message, or have missed calls, or you have received and email etc.

AutumnDreamer replied 3 months, 1 week ago
How do you set it up so that the Event Widget tells you that there is an email?  Do you have to use one of the default providers on the phone to do this?

You're welcome   I'm sorry, I assumed you meant you wanted to assign a different mp3's for different contacts. If you go to menu > settings > sound profile > normal > and then select "message" from the pulldown > then tap the 'message alert tone" you have 4 default choices but if you notice at the lower right of the screen theres a "tones" option and then you can select an audio file...

Does the Eternity have a "Visual Voicemail" feature like that on the iphone or do you have to go through each message one by one? Thanks.

One of the Motorola Q's we have in our company has died. The person using it wants a forward facing keyboard only and it has to be WM. What can users tell me about the pros and cons of the Jack vs. the Propel Pro?   thanks

The downloaded Opera Mini lacks digital signature. That's why it asks your permission everytime you use it. The embedded one doesn't have that issue. Not sure why your Opera Mini doesn't work though. Obviously your cell data connection works (as evidenced by IE). It's probably something to do with your Java stack.

I would like to find out how many of us there are that do not have a data plan with their smartphone?   As we all might know, ATT now requires a data plan for all new smartphone users. This is a ridiculous idea and I believe this will only help to drive away customers. So lets here it. Do you have a smartphone without a data plan? Are you planning on staying on ATT after your contract is up, due to this new policy?

Yes, you will get refurbs and no guarantee the refurns in good shape at all. WM 6.50 is fine. I don't know what's big issue about it. If you can't deal with the changes (every major WM OS changes something), don't upgrade....
