Thread: WFD: Penne with Pumpkin & Sausage

Started 1 month ago by Lv2Cook
After trying out the Hood's Pumpkin egg nog, I'm really wanting pumpkin. I found several interesting baked items (Pumpkin Cider Bread and Pumpkin and Ginger Cookies) that I might make today or tomorrow (took the day off - the car goes in for her 150,000 mile checkup!), but tonight I think I'll pull out a few of the Italian sausages in the freezer and make this recipe that Kim posted many ...

I might have to try this one next time.......I changed up the Pumpkin Sausage Pasta that Nancy had posted and it ended up similiar to what this sounds like since I used Italian sausage. I probably have this one somewhere in the archives but forgot about it......I am glad to see this one Linda and thanks Kim! I stocked up on ground Italian Sausage yesterday......for me and for DH to ...

mmm - i think I'll be making that myself this week - maybe even tonight. I have some chicken sausage and some butternut squash I think I'll use. Yum! Kim

I must be in the minority here when I say the only pumpkin I'll eat is in pie and in Lynda's Harvest Cake, oh, and maybe some pumpkin cookies or quick bread. I guess what it comes down to is that I only like it in sweet things and not with meat! Caroline My Ortho Blog http://mysocalledorthopediclife.blogspot.com/ Bruise Easily?...

Caroline, I don't like meat and fruit together, but this is really like meat with squash.......nothing sweet about it when you use Italian sausage. I stocked up on ground Italian Sausage yesterday......for me and for DH to take with him. It was 1.75 a package! They have mild, sweet and hot. What a GREAT price! And I'm leaning towards using two sweet and one hot Italian sausage for a bit of kick to what I'm assuming is a slightly sweet sauce. Linda ~Lv2Cook~ You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces ...

Penni - I've decided I'm going to use two sweet and one hot Italian sausage for a bit of oomph in the recipe...I'm assuming the sauce is a bit on the sweeter side, so the bits of hot ...

I'll chime in here, although it's been ages since I've posted. This looks very similar to a Rachael Ray recipe, and is quite tasty. I've only made it once, but would go VERY light on the cinnamon and nutmeg -or even leave them out entirely. While they aren't sweet on their own, they made me think of pumpkin pie, which was just squinky with the sausage. All in my head, maybe, but it made a ...

Cinnamon, I did a search and I do believe it is a RR recipe that Kim posted, with a few minor ...

* Exported from MasterCook * Penne with Pumpkin & Sausage My review? This definitely needed the hot Italian sausage I used with the sweet Italian sausage. Otherwise, I personally think it would be too bland for me. I did a quick saute of some fresh spinach and added that to the pasta and sausage, and I also lightly grated some fresh Parm-Reg cheese over top. ...
