Thread: WEDDINGBELLS Message Board Community: do I need family MD to refer me to a OB/GYN?

Started 2 months ago by dangobride

All I did was go into a walk in clinic they did the test I told them why I was high risk (diabetes) and they called the clinic at the Civic and got me set up.

thank you ladies, if I can't get an appointment with my family MD (as usual) then I'll go to a walk-in clinic.

you do need a referal from a GP to a Obgyn ... i don't think it matters if its your GP or not.. but in gral obgyn's wont see you until you are 12 weeks at least.. i'm also high risk (gestational diabetes and biocournate uterus with 2 previous misscarriages) for the diabetes they refer you to the special pregancy unit (either at the gral or at the civic) its dif. from your obgyn ...
