I changed the front dipped bulbs and side bulbs on my 1992 W124 and now i have the bulb failure lighting up on my dashboard even though all the bulbs work fine and none are blown.Any ideas as to why the failure light is showing?
Thanks
Donald
If that is the only one that you disturbed was it the same size in wattage,,are the number plate lights and brake lamps working.
Often one has to use a switch cleaner in the bulb socket and bulb contacts as they oxidize
Where is the bulb failure light anyway? Didn't know the W124 had one of those... I just know the Check Control system that my previous car (BMW e30 touring) had.
Thanks Malcolm,i will remove and replace with some 55w
What about fitting an aftermarket HID kit like the ones from ebay for arounf £75 would these cause a bulb failure warning? I need more light as a stay in the country and want to see Bambi so i can avoid damaging my car.

At a speed comensurate with the visibilty available I doubt that a crash would occur. I do not intend to drive without any lights, just side lights or rather dim dip. I would not reccomend that this is done on a busy road just one that is fairly straight and devoid of traffic. For a location try the Outer hebrides or the moor tops between Lancs and Yorks where they dont have street lamps, no head lights works just fine, the moon and star light...

If I'm out in the sticks, I'll stick the...
