ok changed the fuel pump and the ecm.... and didnt fix it. gotta be a sensor somewhere.... any ideas... thanks again

dcope17 replied 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Well, It has to be air or fuel causing the problem. Check the air filter and change if needed. If that's clean and you see the throttle bodies open when you turn the throttle, then you have the air part checked. Next is fuel. If you have the right fuel pressure and enough fuel flow from the pump ( which is the thing I said earlier to check) Then a clogged or pinched fuel line will cause ...

You missed the ever popular pinched vent hose is about all dcope - the one other possibility to D's list is the vent hose for the tank is pinched just enough that when the pump gets to the fuel demand level required for north of 12k rpm, it not allowing enough air in to displace the fuel being sucked out....

it's a bike they tend to make noises sometimes - no hesitation, no misses under acceleration - no problem...most times - a failed CCT sounds like a in sink erator going thru your engine, a failing one sounds like heavy keys rattling on the tripple

v-tec crx replied 3 months, 1 week ago
I think I know the sound you are talking about.. and i think it is the sound of pressure in the oposite direction on the chain and sprockets.

twilkinson3 replied 3 months, 1 week ago
your mileage may vary.... street driving at sane rpms = 42-48 (more toward 48) mpg with a 170lbs meat sack i nhte saddle At the track solidly north of 7k rpm at most times = well...lets not say but I'll add that the thing eats 5 gallons of fuel by lunch..... it will depend on how you are driving her too

Replace water pump or fix?
Published (2009-12-11 15:43:00)
Ok, here's what I got. I pulled off the water pump and was wiping it off. As I'm looking at how it's built... I don't think your water pump can get coolant into the motor. The outside part is the pump... impeller and hoses leading into it. Then there is a hallow part which the shaft goes through but there is a hole in the bottom of the hallow part... Then the o-ring and into the motor it goes. The only way this would get...

Fuse Problem....PLEASE HELP
Published (2009-12-13 20:16:00)
Something pinched? Inspect all the wire looms. Might come down to removing the bodywork to find this issue. Something is shorting to cause it to blow right away. Start removing the parts that are connected to this circuit. No taillight, if it still blows then remove the tag lighting, then the cluster. Anything that is getting power from that... I would pull the bodywork first before doing anything... T

Maybe moisture got into something where it shouldn't be? Why did your battery died? Have you tried without all the light. Leaving off the aftermarket and stock light off? Is it still blowning fuse without the light?

please help bike not starting
Published (2009-12-10 16:10:00)
I put the battery in today and she finally started up! I guess I was losing pressure at the leak at the banjo bolt. I only have the one washer in it still but it is not leaking. I am going to put another washer on today just to be sure it wont leak though. Thanks for all your help. I can finally ride after my bike not starting for almost 6 months.

Strange new smell on start up.
Published (2009-12-13 22:07:00)
During the winter time, I usually treat my bike to a little hot chocolate. It makes it smell a little sweet. Seriously though, i've never had any bikes smell funny. Is it sweet, sour, rotten? What exactly does it smell like?

At idle/low rmps most of it goes towards keep the electrics running. At higher rpms it will start to slowly charge and maintain the battery.
