Hi, The problem has miraculously disappeared - I believe the culprit was Kaspersky Antivirus Technical Preview for Windows 7. Saves are now instant. That explanation does seem the likely cause. Marked As Answer by Ryan Dev Wednesday, October 28, 2009 11:07 AM

"do you mean the tools or the server?" It's the server. Have you installed SQL Server 2005 SP3 or SQL Server 2008 SP1?  Microsoft SQL Server Release Services Because it's hard to reproduce in a while, I can only give you some suggestion currently.  I will contact with other members in our group to see if they have experience about it.
