Enable the entry 'View large images' in the preferences of Adobe Acrobat.

Folks, I apologize for such a simple question but everytime I download a simple PDF, I cannot see any of the images that are in the pdf. Instead, I only see gray boxes. How can I fix this? Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.
