I looking at it covered in mud right now at the yard. The water is only 2 1/2 ft. deep at that spot. 4-5 inches of mud in the car. The wrecker driver has had over 70 phone calls from various people. I think if you're behind the wheel of anything with over 950 hp you should have better insticts than that.
Yeah, they had that on the news last night. Sorry but I would have just hit
the pelican. At the worst, lets say the windshield is 5k, you would crack
it.
Edit that earlier response. I just went out in the shop to get some work done and turned it on ABC, and there it was on the 4 o'clock news. Yea, I agree, the Pelican would just have to get hit. I'm back inside now, and they just showed another preview of it on the news. They're about to interview the wrecker driver who quote" had the sad job of pulliing it out of the water".
Here's the actual footage of the crash, and their may be a pelican, but I doubt it. There was no sudden change in direction, more like a smooth transition from highway to salt water to me. EXCLUSIVE: Video Of Bugatti Veyron Actually Crashing Into Texas Lake - Bugatti Veyron - Jalopnik

Now I'm starting to wonder. I know a lot of people would take out their phones to get a video of a car of this caliber, but it is fishy that they just so happened to film that at that very moment. If they were really in such awe of the car then why weren't they closer to it or following it even to get a closer picture. And maybe they were acting like idiots who don't know the difference between a Lambo and a Bugatti? Maybe they...

No, not a publicity stunt. Insurance fraud. Apparently this guy has had past problems with the law according to some comments I saw on the Lufkin paper website today. That's where his salvage business is based. I guarantee a bizarre end to this story.
