Thread: Veterans day parade - update keep in touch

Started 1 month ago by Rebel Rider
Hi its been a while thought it would be nice to see what everyone has done lately any accomplishments or things they migh want to share I had veterans day off so I got to ride with about 50 ohter motorcycles as part of the patroit guard in parade. It was a bit cold & wet to start out but it was such fun to see the kids faces and of course show support to the veterans.

Thanks for the information. It is a good idea to post in the cruisers forum about about proper braking control for bikes with floorboards and raised rear brake pedals, and the resultant high likelyhood for rear tire lockup.

So, hubby and I are going next weekend to the MSC. I'm nervous about it, very nervous. It's my understanding they'll provide us with 125 or 250 cc bikes. I'm terrified that I won't be able to adjust to a different bike. Does any one know if they'll give me some time to get used to the bike before they start grading me? I'd hate to pay all that money only to fail the course. Am I nuts for ...

Where are you taking the course? In the US? If you're taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic Rider's Course (BRC), you'll get time to get used to the controls on the "Range Bikes." The course is designed for folks who have NEVER been on a motorcycle... P

Thanks, Lionlady. Yes, we took the class in the US. Just got home. I was worried for no reason. The class was so much fun! We started out with nine and ended with seven after the first half of riding day one. I didn't realize the class was assuming you had no experience on a bike of any kind. I'm happy to report that hubby and I both passed. I can honestly say everyone should take this ...

On a scooter, the raincoat used may be as long as you like. Safety measures must be taken when road conditions deteriorate. On wet pavement (or, worse yet, slow, sleet or icy coditions) the scooterist must assume seriously diminished friction between the road and the tire

I just read all these posts that were originally started by karenmich. Looks like you've become comfortable with the 1100 karen-congrats! I am a new 'street' driver also- i have a honda shadow 750 (aero). I too went through the basic riding school and would highly recommend that to everyone! Please tell me I am not the only one who got dressed up just to sit on my bike in my ...

Scorpion Gear Review

Hello Ladies!   I wanted to share with you my most recent gear review: Scorpion XDR Fury Jacket .   I hope you find it useful and entertaining and I would love some feedback on it.   Personally, with the weather changes we are having around here lately, its nice to not have to haul two jackets for the commute and occasional weekend ride.   Have fun and stay safe!   Melody

Veterans day parade - update...

Unfortunately I had to work Veteran's Day, and they had the parade at 3:30, so I missed it all. This weekend we rode to a neighboring town about an hour away and did some shopping since we won't be back over there until after the new year. If the weather clears off this weekend, we hope to go a little further away, but I'm a little nervous. It will mean crossing a long, narrow, two lane bridge that makes me a basket case in a...
