Thread: Vectra V6 gsi odometer no working

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by Rabbitrushby
Hi, can anyone help on this, the odometer is not displaying, when I first start the car there are some random elements of the display the that light up for a few seconds. it has never worked since I have had the vehicle, can it be disconnected, if so where do I look?, is there a fuse which works this? All other elements work, such as speedo and taco. Many thanks

I think the mileage is kept track of by the e.c.u. but your problem sounds more like an instrument cluster fault, it might be worth while checking the contacts on the back of the clocks.

that bit of the clocks is lcd and back lit by a bulb, easier to just change the clocks

Dynamic Dave replied 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Or it maybe just requires the backlight bulb changing. See the HOW2 for, er, how to change it.

"cough" there are some random elements of the display the that light up for a few seconds

Maybe a random bulb then ;o) Seriously though, as the speedo pod has to come out anyway, it's worth checking the bulbs for peace of mind sake.

Thanks everybody, two more questions, how do I best remove the clocks and I have seen replacements on ebay, should I be looking for a particular part number or are all clocks the same?
