quote ABC announces the premiere of the highly anticipated new series "V," on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT). "V" is a re-imagining of the 1980s miniseries about the world's first encounter with an alien race. Simultaneously appearing over every major city in the world, the Visitors (or V's) promote a message of peace. Through their generous offer to share advanced technology, the...
I'm looking for some new sci-fi, and this looks like it'll be great, plus it's been getting some fantastic reviews. It just sucks it'll only air for 4 weeks and then go on hiatus until March 2010.
I had no clue what this was until I saw a poster online last night, and judging it based on that I thought it looked lame as *bleep*. Then I explored a bit further and read some reviews, and they're absolutely ridiculous. I've never seen anything get such overwhelmingly positive reception. I went from not knowing the show existed, to thinking it looked lame, to not being able to wait until the ...
Yeah some guy at EW said he rated the pilot 11/10 if possible. Seems the hype is quite big. Hopefully its good. I need a decent tv series to keep me happy
And how fitting (funny) that they're going to leave their mark soon. Literally. From an ABC press release: quote From October 23 Through November 3, Look Up at the Sky Near Select Landmarks to Observe The Visitors Leaving Their Mark Beginning October 23 through November 3, the Visitors from "V" will mark the sky with their distinctive red "V" over several U.S. landmarks in different cities in...
ABC has put up what supposedly is the first 8 minutes of the premiere. It can be viewed at the show's web page: http://abc.go.com/shows/v/ Click on the "more video" tab then on "A first look at V". After watching it I also saw some elements that reminded me of the movie "Independence Day". It certainly doesn't waste much time getting to the V's arriving.
It's gotten generally good reviews, the only downside is only 4 episodes will air then it's on hiatus until next year. Production won't resume until January. Hopefully it sticks around long enough for the "planned vision" for the show to be revealed, which would mean roughly 4 seasons. It's a decent premiere, pretty much what I expected although of course it's a little on the slow side. At least...
Yeah, probably since it's November Sweeps so it's a bit of a ratings stunt, but the holidays usually bring tons of pre-emptions so it's a calculated strategy...but I'm afraid it'll backfire. We all know what Tuesdays starting in January mean... Decent premiere episode, got interesting in those last 12 minutes or so with the "we know they're V's, but not everyone else does" angle starting. They ...
I expected it to be like Battlestar Galactica, and it has been...just without all the space battles, backstabbing, secret alliances, and of course sex. So far it's just been too slow-paced and I don't care about the teen love angle developing (I'm saving my caring about it for Caprica).
quote Kirbyking Ok you guys are right. This show is boring. I found myself trolling Neoseeker on my laptop rather than paying attention to the episode. Yeah I found myself doing that during the 3rd episode...Didnt even bother watching the fourth one man did this show go to shits..To bad the first episode was pretty good
quote Dark Magic It's the same actor shinobi, how can she be not as hot? BTW she's 40 years old, I give her +100 cougar points. i know its the same actor, but Juliet is 10x hotter for some reason. maybe cause shes all rugged looking and without makeup in Lost, plus she acts tougher and whatnot. i just really like Juliet as a character though, even more than Kate.
You KNOW Caprica is going to touch base on some seriously morally questionable content, and that's why it'll be awesome. I've yet to see this show do anything that would keep me on the edge of my seat or at all interested in the show.
Probably for the best that it only has 4 episodes until the spring. It may not survive until then, or at least they may move it to another night. What a letdown
I don't see why ABC would cancel it, sure, the numbers have dropped from the pilot, but what show doesn't? It's not like it's pulling 6 million viewers or something, it's doing quite solid and is second to NCIS for best in its time slot. It definitely depends if there's a huge drop-off next week, to like 8 million. But I suspect it'll go up as it's the last episode of the year. I'm still enjoying...
I thought it was crappy. The premiere was average, and the second episode was well below. I may give the next episode one more chance. There's so many other good TV shows on at the moment so it doesn't really matter if it turns out to be a flop.
I had no clue what this was until I saw a poster online last night, and judging it based on that I thought it looked lame as *bleep*. Then I explored a bit further and read some reviews, and they're absolutely ridiculous. I've never seen anything get such overwhelmingly positive reception. I went from not knowing the show existed, to thinking it looked lame, to not being able to wait until the pilot debuts, all in about two minutes....
Yeah some guy at EW said he rated the pilot 11/10 if possible. Seems the hype is quite big. Hopefully its good. I need a decent tv series to keep me happy
